The NS-Frauenschaft badge was the official emblem of the women’s organization of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party (NSDAP). Fully organized in the early 1930s, the NS-Frauenschaft was tasked with structuring and directing women’s roles within the National Socialist state in accordance with party ideology.
The badge features a distinctive diamond shape, widely used across party organizations to ensure immediate visual identification. At its center is the swastika, the core symbol of National Socialism, surrounded by enamel fields reflecting the official colors of the Reich. The use of enamel provided both durability and a formal appearance suitable for regular wear.
On the reverse, the badge is fitted with a soldered pin and reinforcing backing plate, a construction method typical of membership insignia intended for everyday use during meetings, events, and official functions. These badges were not awards for merit, but clear indicators of ideological affiliation and organizational membership.
The NS-Frauenschaft played a significant role in promoting National Socialist values within family life and society, focusing on social welfare, ideological education, and the mobilization of women. Today, the badge stands as a tangible artifact illustrating the extensive organizational network of the National Socialist Party.
