The princely house order of Hohenzollern, which had existed since 1841, was thus adopted as a royal order. However, it was determined that the House Order of Hohenzollern was divided into two orders. The royal and the princely house orders, which exist separately and independently of each other and were allowed to be awarded.
The order was divided into 2 departments of crosses and eagles. The crosses were subdivided into grand commander, commander, knight and owner. The eagles were also subdivided into these classes. The 4th class of holders was not added until 1861 for both departments. A further extension was the star for Grand Commander and Commander, which was born on 18.
October 1861 were donated. These came with and without swords to the award. The swords were awarded in the wars beginning in 1864. The award numbers for the Star of the Commander with Swords shown here are extremely low. In the First World War it is assumed that there will be 7 to 12 awards. For the wars of 1864, 1866 and 1870-71 the unconfirmed figures are even lower.
