Pair of regulation collar tabs attributed to the 21st Infantry Regiment “Cremona”, a historic unit of the Royal Italian Army. Collar tabs were worn on the uniform collar and served as a clear visual identifier of the soldier’s regimental affiliation, in accordance with contemporary uniform regulations. The 21st Regiment, together with the 22nd Infantry Regiment, formed the “Cremona” Brigade, later expanded into a division with a long operational history. The unit saw active service during the First World War on the Italian front and was again deployed during the Second World War. Following the Armistice of 8 September 1943, the “Cremona” Division became part of the Italian Co-Belligerent Army and took part in combat operations during the Liberation of Italy alongside Allied forces. These collar tabs embody the regimental identity and continuity of Italian infantry traditions.
